Established in March 2010, Three Leaf Financial is a financial planning firm provides full-service financial planning to its clients. The firm works one-on-one with clients to create, implement, and manage tailored financial plans that are unique to each client's goals. Three Leaf Financial is built on a life-long relationship model and the ability to make complex ideas easy to understand. As a Fiduciary, the firm always serves its clients' best interests.
Derek's professional journey began with his attendance at East Stroudsburg University, followed by a successful career in the hospitality industry where he developed hotels nationwide. Subsequently, he established his own Financial Advisory Practice, where he brings his passion for numbers and planning expertise to assist clients in making sound financial decisions. As a Fiduciary and Independent Insurance Agent, Derek works in his clients' best interest on investment design and management. He has made it his mission to educate and empower his clients with the knowledge they need to make informed financial decisions.
Kelly joined the practice in 2020 with a rich background in education, where she worked for the last 19 years at the University of Virginia’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies located in Falls Church, VA as a Program Administrator in the education and business programs.
Kelly graduated from Strayer University in 2009 earning her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.
In Kelly's spare time she enjoys being with family and friends. Kelly also enjoys being outdoors (camping, hiking, kayaking, wineries, concerts etc.) Kelly also enjoys volunteering within her community with The Sweet Julia Grace Foundation helping raise funds for families of children with serious illnesses, at her church, and with the local homeless shelter SERVE.
Joy joined the practice in 2024 with a background in senior living communities, were she worked as an Activities Director, right here in VA. Having the ability to change professions, Joy worked in Finance for the last 3 years as an Assistant to a Financial Advisor. When Joy realized that she could combine, both her passion to serve people and her passion for numbers in the financial world, it drew her in to stay.
Joy Graduated from McDaniel College in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a minor in Gerontology.
When it comes to hobbies, Joy loves to roller skate, play tennis, and will participate in almost anything active (bowling, dance classes, walking trails, exercising). Outside of Joys physical hobbies she is heavily involved in her church, participating in food drives and peace walks. Joy also shares the delight of being with friends and family.
